It was all about hairstyles last weekend when hairstylist Karissa Robinson hosted D Hair and Beauty Show at Lions Cultural Centre, off Wrightson Road Ext, Port-of-Spain. The event showcased the stylist’s ability to transform ordinary hairstyles into magical, beautiful creations. Robinson focused on hairstyles that would cater for that casual and formal occasion and, for the daring, there were the funky and the fantasy hairstyles. Nine adults and seven children modelled her styles and the enthusiasm displayed by those in attendance was encouraging.

All categories of hairstyles saw models using their natural hair. It was only in the fantasy segment that hair pieces were used. The styles were mounted from the previous day, with minor touch-ups on the day of the show. An average of 20 minutes is required by Robinson to have her models’ hair styled. This time frame goes with the understanding that the person’s hair is washed and pre-treatments done. Robinson’s business is located at number 3 Kandahar Street in St James.
