After coming off a great 2010 season having won six of the major competitions Gerard Kely & Associates children’s mas band is now looking ahead to its 12th year in children’s Carnival with its 2011 presentation—Welcome to Disney. Bandleader Kelly explains that the idea for this year’s presentation came on a trip to Disneyworld. “It was there and then it was decided to bring Disney to Trinidad and Tobago Carnival,” he said.

Since the band launch back in November at the Courtyard Marriott there has been a constant buzz of children, excited about this year’s portrayals, the smallest of which are the famous Minnie and Mickey Mouse. Kelly said the band will be bigger and better this year, with 11 sections, six individuals, two queens and a king. As usual the band is fully all-inclusive with music on the road powered by DJ Studio Guyz.
