Thursday November 25,
El Tucuche, the iconic, flat-topped mountain in the middle of the Northern Range, had a moment in the sun on Saturday evening, as artist and teacher, Andre Reyes, launched his exhibition, Forty-One Views of El Tucuche. The event, his first solo show, was attended by friends, family and invited guests, who came to take in Reyes’ interpretations of the mountain, rendered in acrylic, pencil, watercolour and verse. The show was mounted at a residence in Valsayn North.
Reyes said while working in Chaguanas and travelling northward to return home each day, he had been spellbound by the majesty of the peak and inspired to create the collection. The artist, who teaches Art at St Mary’s College, thanked his family and mentors for their support.
The exhibition is now open to the public at 40 Valsayn Avenue, North Valsayn, from 10 am to 8 pm, until November 30. For further information, call 331-8293.
