Kids In Need of Direction (Kind), a non-profit organisation, staged a successful benefit concert on July 27, at Queen’s Hall, St Ann’s. The concert was held to raise funds for Kind’s ongoing Sponsor a Child to Learn Programme.Billed as A Song For Change, the production featured Kees Dieffenthaller, The Alternative Quartet, The Republic Bank Love Movement Youth Outreach Group, Jean-Marc Tardieu, Marie Carter, Jesse Ryan, and Johann Chuckaree. Initiated by managing director Karina Jardine-Scott, the Sponsor a Child to Learn Programme has assisted more than 1,500 disadvantaged youth in primary and secondary schools, whose parents are unable to provide for their basic educational and nutritional needs.
