Dragon Stout Spitfire
Friday July 16,

Dragon Stout lovers will now enjoy twice the pleasure of an ice-cold stout, as the brand has a new 'bro', Dragon Stout Spitfire.

Red Stripe recently introduced the new drink that has a more mixable variant, which embodies the versatility of younger consumers who want to exercise their independence with their choice of non-traditional mixes.

For those who were not so fond of dragon on the rocks, they may find favour with this drink because it has a silky-smooth, slightly sweeter taste.

Assistant brand manager innovations at Red Stripe Tanisha Miranda explained that Red Stripe decided to put Dragon Spitfire on the market not as a replacement for the previous stout, but to deliver the highest quality to its loyal consumers.

She said that the mixing trend has been growing over the past five years, and consumers continue to make their own mixes. As such, Red Stripe is satisfying the consumer's need by creating a mixable stout with a higher alcohol content by volume.

Different needs

She added that there are consumers who do not feel a part of the Dragon family as they have slightly different needs.

"Thus, Dragon Stout Spitfire is bringing the Dragon brand to this set of consumers, our younger adults, who are looking for the perfect mixer," notes Miranda.

She also noted that Dragon Stout Spitfire is everything you love about Dragon and more, as it uses the same quality ingredients but it's brewed longer for a smooth easy mix. And the greatest factor is that it will not cost the consumer more.

Food put this new stout to the test, and here is how it measured up.

Comments:

1. Delicious, smooth, almost like port (wine), but with a malt zing.

2. The name is quite realistic as it does warm me up. Little concerned about the alcohol content but very nice.

3. Like the kick. They kicked it up a notch, as it is smoother and has a lighter taste than the other one. Hits you quicker and leaves less taste in your throat. It gives you that warm feeling in your stomach. I like it.

4. It 'junk' mi!

5. This new drink tastes much better, not too sweet, but much stronger.

6. Love the taste.

7. It's not sweet and it's smoother, I like it.

8. It taste good.

9. A little too much alcohol for me. But it's not bad.

10. I love it and I would drink this one straight from the bottle as opposed to the other one that I would have to mix. Definitely prefer this one. I would buy it.

11. As the name suggests, it's spitting fire. I like it.

12. Not bad.
