A combined dream became a reality on August 6, with the ceremonial opening of a new bridal store in the southland. Nadia Mohammed-Baptiste, sister-in-law of Health Minister, Therese Baptiste-Cornelis, and business partner, Seeta Mohammed, opened the doors of Say Yes To Dress, on the South Trunk Road in La Romaine. The shop caters to the clothing needs of brides of Christian, Hindu and Muslim faiths. And in addition, it sells dresses for graduations, along with fashionable accessories and gift boxes.

Delivering the feature address, Baptiste-Cornelis commended the two women for their contribution to the southern city, and for being leaders of entrepreneurial spirit, which she said was vital to the development of T&T.“We can no longer look solely to oil and gas to fuel our economy. Innovative small and micro-enterprises play a large part in the economic development of our country. So it is on this level as well that I also commend these two industrious and innovative ladies,” the Minister said. Among those in attendance were Senator Rudrawatee Nan Ramgoolam, T&T cricket captain Daren Ganga, his bother Sherwin Ganga, and Darren Bravo. The function was hosted by 2010 Road March winners, JW and Blaze. Mohammed-Baptiste promised that this store was just the first of many other branches.
