The West Indies managed to keep Zimbabwe in check over the weekend in their second clash in Guyana.
Left-arm spinner Nikita Miller took a career-best 4-43 as the West Indies bowled out Zimbabwe for 206 off 49.5 overs in the second Digicel One-Day International at the Guyana National Stadium on Saturday.
Needing a victory to level the five-match series, the Windies came out fired up and took a wicket in the first over – when fast bowler Kemar Roach`s direct hit resulted in the run out of Vusi Sibanda.
After that the Windies kept the visitors in check and Miller proved to be the most successful, eclipsing his previous best of 3-19. Roach was also brilliant taking 3-37 from 9.5 overs to add to the run out. Captain Chris Gayle came on in the middle of the innings and was very tight with his off-spin, conceeding just 25 runs from his 10 overs and taking the key wicket of Brendan Taylor.
The top score for Zimbabwe came from Elton Chigumbura who made 50 from 72 balls, while Taylor made 47 from 66 balls. Chigumbura added 73 for the sixth wicket with Greg Lamb (23) to stabilize the innings after Zimbabwe had slipped to 108-5 in the 26th over.
